SERVICES PROVIDED
Restorative Youth Services is a Qualified Residential Treatment Program (QRTP) and credentialed through the Council on Accreditation (COA)
RYS offers an array of services. The therapeutic group home program provides room and board, daily psycho-educational opportunities, weekly individual and group therapy, family therapy as deemed appropriate, and one-on-one staffing/supervision when required. Our program and staff will cater to youth who require a step-down from locked or hospital facilities and/or youth who need a higher level of supervision than therapeutic foster care can provide.
PROGRAM FOCUS
RYS delivers a behavior modification program that focuses on:
• Trauma Informed Care
• Respect for Authority
• Total Accountability for Chosen Behavior
• Effective Problem-Solving
• Restorative Justice Model
• Replacing Faulty Thinking
• Increased Self-Esteem and Self-Worth
THERAPEUTIC APPROACH
RYS develops an individualized treatment plan of care to meet the needs of each youth. Some examples of therapeutic interventions utilized by RYS include: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Reality Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Trauma Therapy and Person-Centered Strength Based approaches.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
Adolescents between the ages of 11 and 17 and who have a DSM-V diagnosis will be considered for acceptance into the Restorative Youth Services Program. All residents must be capable of functioning, at least marginally, in a community setting. Restorative Youth Services will not be able to accept youth who cannot fit into our program (examples include: sex offenders, active drug use, active homicidal or suicidal).
DAY-TO-DAY OPERATIONS
At RYS, a therapeutic environment is provided at all times by qualified counselors and direct care staff. Youth will earn trust and privileges by complying with written rules and expectations, and according to age. Each resident will meet with a psychiatrist for medication management, a therapist for individual and group therapy, and have a case manager who will monitor the daily progress of the individual treatment plan, deal with progress (or lack of progress), and address disciplinary issues. The case manager will provide monthly updates and quarterly reviews to the placing agency and/or legal guardians.

Restorative Youth Services seeks to help youth to build the skills needed to transition to a less restrictive placement, back within the larger community.
RYS believes that the presentation of a formal SEL (Social, Emotional Learning) Program for our residents, presenting explicit SEL instruction and skill building, will greatly enhance the residents’ opportunities to be successful in their future endeavors. RYS is planning to break up the SEL Program over a 6-week span with a pre-assessment and a post assessment in order to have data on any gains that are made with the program.
The goal would be to transition residents to less restrictive care at a higher rate and to develop the needed skills for pro-social self-sufficiency.
To enhance the transition process, RYS has shifted our practices to address these needs. RYS increased clinical staff and added trained recreational staff to provide a more structured, therapeutic recreational outing plan.
